About Our Nursery

At Bright Sparks we are aware of how important family life is to children and the pressures that modern society can have upon this. Therefore we aim to be as flexible as we can to be able to accommodate for most childcare needs.

Opening times

Our opening times are  from 7.00 am to 6.00 pm Monday to Friday, all year round except for Bank holidays and 2 weeks at Christmas when we close.

What we offer

In our nursery in Plymouth, we provide for a variety of childcare needs for children aged from 3 months to 12 years with:

All day childcare for children from 3 months to 5 years old.

We have a very well equipped Baby Room for the babies where they can safely explore treasure baskets or strengthen their mobility skills using walkers or the baby gym for example. The babies are encouraged to develop a set routine of feeds and naps within the regular nursery routine but this is adapted to suit the child themselves as required. Nappies are changed every 2 hours or sooner if required.

Then there is the  Toddler and Pre-school area for the mobile children with a separate teaching area for the older children (this is where the children get a bit more teaching in-put from our highly trained practitioners).

Government Funded Education

We can provide free childcare for:

Eligible 2 year olds for 15 hours a week term time (or 12 hours a week all year round if you opt for stretched funding).

All 3 and 4 year olds for 15 hours a week term time (or 12 hours a week all year round if you opt for stretched funding).

Eligible 3 and 4 year olds for up to 30 hours a week term time (or 24 hours a week all year round if you opt for stretch funding).

Eligible School aged children can access the ‘Fit and Fed’ programme for 6 hours per day plus lunch in the School holidays.

Just ask for more information about how to apply.

Out of school childcare

We care for school aged children up to the age of 12 years.

This includes: a breakfast club and after school club during term time.

In the holidays we run a holiday club where we provide lots of fun activities. The activities are often themed with the children themselves helping with the planning to ensure a fun time is had. Please make sure you book early as there are only limited spaces available.

Please see the  what we do page for more details about all the childcare we offer.
