Fun day next Saturday

Funday poster 06-15
I hope you can all come as it should be a good day. We are having the usual (very popular) barbecue, there will be an ice cream van and other refreshments (tea, coffee, cakes, soft drinks etc). I have bought a bouncy castle (it is not huge but hopefully it is big enough and it will fit unlike most of the commercial ones). We have invited the Ponderosa ponies to come along and they will if they can, if they cannot be riden, they can be petted. We have Megan doing hair braiding as she trained as a hairdresser before coming to us, Michaela who is a trained dance instructor will be doing a dance workshop and Vicky is busy practicing her face painting skills. We have invited Bearami (the build-a-bear mascot) to come along as usual and he will be handing out the goodie bags (which should be good this year as I have been very successful in obtaining freebies from lots of very kind people). We have had lots of donations for the raffle, from Dartmoor Zoo, The National Marine Aquarium, The Pike Road Co-op, The Torridge Way Co-op, Drakes Den, The Monkey Sanctuary and Living Coasts Zoo & Aquarium, so far.

Cosy Corner

On the 18th of January the cosy corner was finished ready for the children to start using.

Here is our cosy corner which we made for the children to have a place to sit and relax, talk to friends, read books alone or with a practitioner. As we have been working to have the garden more accessible in the winter rain we had it built with a roof to keep books and the children dry.

There is a seating area for children and practitioners and a separate ledge to store books for the children. We had an alphabet frieze made to put inside the cosy corner to further develop phonic skills and letters and sounds while outdoors as this space is sometimes used for small group activities.
